Woman suspected of beaming a laser at car, helicopter

A 32-year-old woman was arrested Friday on suspicion of pointing a hand-held laser at a police car and a law-enforcement helicopter, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.

A squad car was patrolling in the 1900 block of Villines Street in San Jacinto when someone pointed the hand-held laser at the car. When a sheriff's helicopter searched the area, the laser was pointed at the aircraft, authorities said.

Officers found the house on Villines Street where the laser-pointer was positioned and identified the woman as Irene Marie Levy, who was taken into custody.
