Warm, dry weather forecast for Thanksgiving weekend

Southern California saw dreary weather over the weekend, but no need to worry — clear skies and warmer temperatures are predicted for the Thanksgiving week ahead.

Slightly lower-than-normal temperatures were anticipated for downtown Los Angeles and the valley areas Monday — highs were forecast in the mid-60s to lower-70s — but meteorologist David Sweet with the National Weather Service said the days will get warmer as the week progresses.

By the time Thursday rolls around, temperatures in the 70s would be accompanied by sunny skies, Sweet said. Friday and Saturday could see 80-degree weather with some gusty winds.

"It should be very mild — if not warm — and sunny," Sweet said.
