Weather Service issues freeze warning for portions of Southland
The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures to dip below freezing in parts of Southern California during Monday's early-morning commute hours as well as Monday night into Tuesday.
Some areas, including the Antelope Valley, could see hard freezes, the weather service said, and California Highway Patrol officials warned that portions of some freeways could freeze over.
As of 6 a.m., the cold temperatures had yet to cause any freeway problems.
In addition to freeze warnings, the weather service issued a wind advisory for the Antelope Valley and the mountain ranges of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, warning of gusts of up to 45 mph.
