Sheriff's detectives look for clues in fatal Compton shooting

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies on Saturday were investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Compton.

The  unidentified victim was shot about 10:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of East Oaks Street, said Deputy Kim Manatt.

Paramedics rushed the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, she said.

There was no immediate description of the assailant from homicide detectives, she said.
