Eight people shot, at least two dead, at Fresno plant

Eight people were shot at an Apple Valley Farms plant in Fresno on Tuesday morning, according to the city's emergency manager.

At least two people are dead, including one believed to be the shooter, Beth Brown said.

[Updated at 10:25 a.m., Nov. 6: At a news conference, Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer provided updated information. He said that five people were shot, including the gunman. One person was dead; the gunman was in critical condition with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, he said.]

KFSN-TV in Fresno reported that three people were dead.

The plant is located in an industrial area in central Fresno. Police were expected to provide additional information at a 10 a.m. news conference.
