Santa Monica police respond to huge party at airport

A party attended by 2,000 to 3,000 people at the Santa Monica Airport prompted police to respond in force late Tuesday night to break up the gathering.

News footage on KCAL-TV (Channel 9) showed officers in riot gear lined up at the party at an airport hangar.

Santa Monica police reportedly called for assistance from the Culver City Police Department. The watch commander at the Santa Monica Police Department was not available Tuesday night for comment.

No other details were immediately available.
