Man shot and killed in San Fernando; suspect remains at large

Authorities are searching for a suspect in a Sunday night shooting in San Fernando that left a man dead.

Officials said San Fernando police received calls of shots fired in the 300 block of Hager Street at about 10:30 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene they found a Latino man lying in a carport with a gunshot wound, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Paramedics were called to the scene but the man, who has not been identified by authorities, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The San Fernando Police Department and the Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau are investigating the shooting and searching for a suspect in the case.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Information can be provided anonymously by calling "Crime Stoppers" at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
