Pedestrian struck and killed by motorist; police questioning suspect

The accident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. in the 8100 block of Lankershim Boulevard, police said. The unidentified pedestrian was described as a man believed to be in his 70s. 

Detectives were questioning a suspect at USC Medical Center, where the subject may have surrendered voluntarily to police, said LAPD Sgt. Kurt Smith.
