Pedestrian struck and killed by train in Encinitas

Officials in San Diego County are investigating the death of a pedestrian struck and killed by a train in Encinitas.

The incident occurred Thursday night by a southbound train, said officials with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

The identity of the victim was not released. The county medical examiner was investigating.
