Panty bandits strike Victoria's Secret store in San Diego

Victoria

Two bandits walked into the Victoria's Secret store in the downtown Horton Plaza shopping center crowded with Christmas shoppers  this week and stole about 300 pairs of panties, the San Diego Police Department said Friday.

The two men, described as Latinos who are 18 to 25 years old and between 5 foot 6 and 5 foot 9 with thin to medium builds, walked into the store about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

One grabbed about 300 pairs of panties and put them into a shopping bag and left, followed by the other man, police said. Store employees were unaware of the theft until they noticed that about half the panties on the display were missing.

According to the Victoria's Secret website, panties, depending on the style, range from three pair for $33 to 4 pair for $28.

Anyone with information about the bandits or the purloined panties is asked to call San Diego police at (619) 744-9500 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
