Man impaled on wrought iron fence in Hollywood Hills

November 2, 2012 |  1:29 pm

A man who scaled a Hollywood Hills wall in a quest for a good view of the city stumbled and fell early Friday morning, impaling his leg on a wrought iron fence, officials said.

Los Angeles firefighters responded to the scene at 1236 N. Sierra Alta Way and cut off the section of the fence before transporting the man to a hospital in stable condition.

Officials said they kept the piece of fence in his right thigh to ensure he did not suffer massive bleeding before reaching the hospital.

[An On Scene TV film crew captured the rescue on video, shown above, which may be disturbing to some viewers.]
