The man -- who police described as black, 5 feet 10 with an athletic build and wearing a Raiders jacket -- entered the store at 9 p.m. and asked for a glass of water.
He flashed a handgun in his waistband, led an employee to the back of the store and demanded money from the safe.
He fled on foot with $2,500, said Burbank police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.
No injuries were reported, police said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3000.
