Light rain falls Friday, heavier showers set for Saturday

Light rain Friday made for slick roads for the final morning commute of the work week, but meteorologists said heavier showers are on the way.

The morning rain was the result of a cold front hitting Southern California. Scattered showers are expected throughout the day and evening Friday with stronger rainfall expected Saturday morning.

“Motorists should be alert for slick roadways due to the combination of oil and rainfall,” the National Weather Service said in a weather advisory.

Scattered showers are expected through Monday, with temperatures slated to be 54 to 71 degrees.

If you're hoping to head to the beach, hold off until Wednesday--which is forecast to be 70 degrees and sunny.
