L.A. County coroner seeks help in identifying woman's body

The Los Angeles County coroner's office is seeking the public's help in identifying the body of a woman who was last seen alive in South Los Angeles almost two months ago, officials said Saturday.

A coroner's spokesman said the woman was last seen on the afternoon of Sept. 27 after she was dropped off at the King Urgent Care Clinic on Wilmington Avenue.

Earlier in the day she had been seen at a liquor store ln East Compton and later was turned away from an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting near Manchester Avenue and Broadway in South Los Angeles, coroner's spokesman Craig Harvey said.

The woman was described as Latina, about 5 feet tall and 129 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.  She was wearing a shirt with vertical red and blue stripes with "ECD" over the left breast, black pants, black LA Gear sneakers and two necklaces.

Anyone with information about her possible identity is asked to called coroner's investigator Daniel Machian at (323) 343-0754 during business hours or a 24-hour hotline at (323) 343-0714.
