Four killed, five injured in N. California vehicle collision
Authorities say three Bay Area residents — including two young children — are among the four people killed after a crash on a Northern California highway Saturday evening.
California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer John Frizzell says five other people were hurt in the crash when a Toyota Prius crossed over the center line on Highway 50 near Placerville around 6:05 p.m. Saturday and collided with a minivan.
The CHP says three of the four people in the Prius — a 39-year-old man driving the car, an adult female and a child, were killed it the crash. A child in the car suffered moderate injuries.
Frizzell says of the five people in the minivan, one person — a 4-year-old girl —was killed.
The four survivors — the 35-year-old female driver, a 51-year-old male passenger and two one-year-old children suffered minor to moderate injuries
No names have been released.
