A former Navy SEAL has been ordered to stand trial on charges that he swindled fellow SEALs and others of more than $1.1 million.

Jason Matthew Mullaney, 41, was ordered Monday to stand trial on 30 charges of theft and securities fraud. San Diego County Superior Court Judge Frederic Link put bail for Mullaney at $2 million.

Prosecutors allege that Mullaney promised 11 investors returns of 24% from real estate and loan deals but instead used the money for a lavish lifestyle, including gambling trips to Las Vegas. He is set to return to court on Dec. 10.
