A firefighter was injured early Thursday after falling about 16 feet from his ladder while fighting a fire at a Canoga Park building, authorities said.

The man was among 62 firefighters who responded to a blaze at a multi-unit commercial building in the 7800 block of Canoga Avenue about 2:10 a.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott said.

He was taken to a hospital and listed in fair condition. His name and age were not released.

The fire was knocked down in about 30 minutes.

Arson investigators were called to the scene to help determine the cause of the fire, Scott said. The extent of damage was unknown.
