Fire damages woodshop at Monroe High School in North Hills
An attic fire early Friday damaged a building that houses the woodshop at James Monroe High School in North Hills, Los Angeles fire officials said.
The fire in the free-standing classroom on the south side of the campus at 9229 Haskell Ave. was reported at 2:41 a.m. and extinguished by 94 firefighters in about 45 minutes.
There were no injuries to firefighters, and the cause of the blaze was under investigation, said fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
