Earthquake: 3.4 quake strikes near San Juan Bautista

A shallow magnitude 3.4 earthquake was reported Thursday morning two miles from San Juan Bautista, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 7:34 a.m. PDT at a depth of 3.7 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was seven miles from Prunedale, seven miles from Aromas, eight miles from Hollister and 41 miles from San Jose City Hall.

In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
