Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near Manhattan Beach

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Monday evening 10 miles from Manhattan Beach, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 6:39 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 6.8 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was nine miles from Marina Del Rey, 10 miles from Hermosa Beach, 14 miles from Torrance and 22 miles from the Los Angeles Civic Center.

In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
