Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Baker
A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Monday afternoon 19 miles from Baker , according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:19 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 0 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 24 miles from Tecopa , 32 miles from Shoshone , 50 miles from Pahrump, Nev. and 75 miles from Las Vegas.
In the past 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
