Bomb squad dispatched to LAX after vibrating package found

An LAPD bomb squad was dispatched to Los Angeles International Airport to investigate a suspicious package left in a shuttle, but the incident turned out to be a false alarm, authorities said.

Pat Gannon, a former LAPD deputy chief and the incoming chief of the police force that patrols LAX, said a shuttle driver spotted an unattended bag and contacted police when it began vibrating. 

After the driver pulled over to the curb, the area around the vehicle was cordoned off as the bomb squad investigated. Inside the package  they found an electric razor, Gannon said.

Passengers reported on social media that the shuttle was between Terminals 6 and 7.

The area was reopened by 3: 30 p.m., airport officials said.
