Autopsy scheduled for woman believed to have been mauled by dogs
Authorities will conduct an autopsy Tuesday on a woman believed to have been mauled to death by eight dogs in the backyard of a San Diego County home.
The 30-year-old victim was found dead by a relative Sunday evening at the residence in the 1300 block of Calle Tecolotan in Fallbrook, officials said.
Animal control officers secured the dogs, which were running free in the yard. The dogs were identified as Olde English Bulldogges.
San Diego Police told Fox-5 San Diego that some of the dogs had been injured, suggesting a possible dog fight.
Police said Monday that the woman's injuries were consistent with dog bites, but that an official cause of death would not be determined until after a full autopsy.
The victim has not been named, pending completion of family notification.
