Approximate location of accident shown in red.

Motorists traveling to Los Angeles from Santa Clarita or points north faced a challenge Wednesday morning in the North Hills section of the San Fernando Valley.

A traffic accident at 6:19 a.m. blocked the right two lanes of the southbound 405 Freeway at Devonshire Street. It slowed traffic back to the 5 Freeway at Calgrove Boulevard in the Santa Clarita Valley.

The California Highway Patrol described southbound traffic as "slow and go" from the 5 and 405 freeway split southward into Westwood.
