2 people wounded in deputy-involved shooting in Compton

Two people were wounded in Compton in a deputy-involved shooting, authorities said Wednesday night.

The victims were taken to a hospital. Their condition was not immediately known, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

A third person was arrested at the scene in the 1600 block of East San Luis Street. No deputies were injured in the incident, which was reported shortly before 7 p.m.

Homicide detectives were responding. No additional details were immediately available.
