Two arrested on suspicion of stealing dog, shooting at dog's owner
Two people were arrested Saturday in Chula Vista on suspicion of stealing a pit bull puppy and then firing shots at the animal's owner as he chased them in his car.
During the chase, the two suspected dog thieves crashed their car, which caught fire.
The two fled on foot but were arrested later. The dog was unhurt, police said. Arrested were Arturo Deharo, 23, and Lizeth Garcia, 18.
