Entertainment impresario Sean "Diddy" Combs was injured in a two-car traffic accident in front of the Beverly Hills Hotel, police said Wednesday.

Combs, who complained of unspecified pain, told authorities he would "seek his own medical attention," police said.

The entertainer-entrepreneur was a passenger in a Cadillac Escalade, which was headed west on Sunset Boulevard before it collided with a Lexus that made a left turn in front of the sport utility vehicle.

The accident was reported about 1 p.m. near Sunset Boulevard and Crescent Drive, Beverly Hills Police Lt. Lincoln Hoshino said in a statement. The driver of the Lexus received unspecified injuries and was taken to a hospital.
