Santa Clarita man killed in motorcycle accident

October 6, 2012 | 10:30 am

A Santa Clarita man killed in a motorcycle collision may have been trying to pull to the side of the road for medical problems when he crashed, authorities said Saturday.

Blair Marcus Proulx, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene in a solo motorcycle accident Friday about 6 p.m. near his home in a residential neighborhood at Alta Knoll Drive south of Elder Creek Drive.

“We’ve had a lot of fatal motorcycle accidents, mostly because the drivers are going fast,” said Lt. Mark Hershey of the L.A. County Sheriff ’s Department. “But he wasn’t even going very fast. It’s very sad.”

Hershey said it was not clear whether Proulx struck anything on the side of the road but that no other vehicles were involved. The incident is under investigation by the Santa Clarita Valley Station traffic office. Anyone witnessing the incident is asked to contact Det. Travis Kelly at (661) 255-1121.
