Seven young women were named to the 2013 Tournament of Roses Royal Court on Monday morning in Pasadena.

Kate Benuska, Tracy Cresta, Vanessa Manjarrez, Victoria McGregor, Nicole Nelam, Sonia Shenoi and Madison Teodo were selected from the 33 finalists who interviewed Thursday at the Tournament House.

Of the seven, one will be named Rose queen next week.

The monthlong selection process looks for "participants with the right combination of poise, personality, public speaking ability and scholastic achievement," according to the Tournament of Roses website.

The Rose queen and princesses will ride in the 2013 Rose Parade — themed "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" — and attend public functions throughout the year.
