Mother, 2 young children found slain in Sacramento-area home

Sacramento-area neighborhood where three people found murdered.A mother and her two young children were found slain Tuesday afternoon in their Sacramento-area home, and her baby was found unharmed in a crib, authorities said.

The gruesome discovery was made by the woman's husband after he arrived at the single-story home on Desoto Way in Rancho Cordova, the Sacramento Sheriff's Department told KTXL-TV Fox 40

The children were a 2-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl. The father reportedly used a neighbor's phone to alert authorities.

Investigators were at the scene Tuesday evening gathering evidence. No additional details were immediately available.
