Man stole fried chicken, refused to wait in line to pay, police say
A 42-year-old man was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly
stole fried chicken and a piece of cheesecake at a Vons supermarket
because he didn’t want to wait in a long line, police said.
Officers
stopped Corey Young at Los Feliz Boulevard and San Fernando Road after they
found him fleeing the Vons, Glendale police said.
Young,
who police said is on probation armed robbery, told officers he grew
impatient while waiting to pay for his chicken and cheesecake and
decided to walk out of the store, police said. He left his backpack at
the store after a struggle with loss prevention guards.
When Young was searched, $209 worth of baby formula, razors, bandages, shampoo and foot spray were found in his back pack, police said.
