At least 3 injured in shooting in Hollywood
A shooting in Hollywood late Wednesday night left at least three people wounded, authorities said, and had hundreds fleeing their Halloween festivities as police closed down the area to search for the suspect.
The shooting occurred on Hollywood Boulevard near Whitley Avenue about 10 p.m., said LAPD Officer Venus Hall.
Hall said two of those wounded suffered minor injuries and a third was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Televised news reports, however, quoted Los Angeles Fire Department officials as saying three people had been taken to hospitals.
The shooter is still on the loose, Hall said.
Streets were being closed to both cars and pedestrians as police worked to secure the scene.
