Former Marine officer gets seven years in prison for child porn

A 28-year-old former Marine officer was sentenced in San Diego federal court Friday to seven years and three months in prison after pleading guilty to distributing child pornography.

Joshua Taylor was also sentenced to register as a sex offender after his prison sentence. He pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography on various file-sharing websites from May 2010 to November 2011.

Taylor was assigned as a helicopter pilot at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station when he was arrested. He held the rank of captain. He has since left the Marine Corps.
