3.5 earthquake strikes near Eureka
A shallow, magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported Sunday afternoon four miles from Blue Lake, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:40 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 13.0 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was eight miles from Arcata, 10 miles from McKinleyville, 15 miles from Eureka and 208 miles from Sacramento.
In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
