Earthquake: 3.2 quake strikes near Eureka

A shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning 26 miles from Eureka,  according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 8:29 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 1.9 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was five miles from Willow Creek, 15 miles from Blue Lake, 15 miles from Weitchpec and 205 miles from Sacramento.

In the past 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
