Earthquake: 3.2 quake strikes near San Lucas

A shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake was reported Monday afternoon 14 miles from San Lucas, which is south of King City in Monterey County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:25 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 5.6 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 14 miles from New Idria, 16 miles from San Ardo, 18 miles from King City and 97 miles from San Jose City Hall.

In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
