Deputy-involved shooting at Inglewood emergency room investigated

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department homicide detectives are investigating a deputy-involved shooting in the emergency room of Centinela Hospital in Inglewood early Thursday morning.

The shooting occurred about 12:45 a.m. at the hospital at 555 E. Hardy St., according to a Sheriff's Department preliminary report.

One person was shot, according to the report.

Early reports had not determined the condition of the person who was shot or why the the shooting occurred.

No deputies were hurt in the incident, the report said.

As is routine in deputy-involved shootings, the case will be investigated by the department's internal affairs bureau and the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, as well as department detectives.
