Approximate location of crash shown in red.

A multi-vehicle crash on the southbound 605 Freeway in Pico Rivera left some motorists injured Thursday morning and slowed traffic through the area.

California Highway Patrol Officer Ed Jacobs said the collision occurred about 5:54 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Beverly Boulevard. Jacobs said it was unclear how many vehicles were involved, but that the pileup apparently included a Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus that was empty except for the driver.

Jacobs said just before 7 a.m. that the two right-hand lanes on the southbound 605 Freeway remained closed.

Jacobs said it was not immediately clear how many people were hurt in the crash or the extent of their injuries.
