Three bobcats found sleeping in La Crescenta backyard

Three bobcats were spotted sleeping in the backyard of a La Crescenta home Tuesday evening.

Initial reports stated that three mountain lions had been spotted.

Sgt. Gary Ogurek of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station told KTLA-TV that a resident saw the animals in the 5300 block of Pineridge Drive and called deputies at 5:24 p.m.

From the description, he thinks it was a mother with two nearly grown offspring.

Deputies notified Fish and Game and called for a helicopter.

Deputies also resorted to a low-tech approach to send the animals back up the hill.

"They used pots and pans and the critters decided it wasn't a good place to sleep. We try to improvise," Ogurek said.
