3 injured when vehicle crashes into Canoga Park Target

Three people were injured Friday after a motorist drove her sedan through the entrance of a Target in Canoga Park, Los Angeles fire officials said.

One person suffered critical injuries and two others had serious injuries as a result of the crash, which happened shortly after 5 p.m., fire officials said.

The driver, a woman about 70 years old, was among the injured, said Erik Scott, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman. All of the injured were taken to hospitals, Scott said.

Officials said the driver plowed through the glass doors and drove 50 feet inside, into the electronics area of the department store, located at 6800 N. Owensmouth Ave.

Los Angeles police are investigating the incident.
