Valencia man held after blogging he wouldn't mind killing kids

A Valencia man was arrested Monday after stating on a blog that he would not mind killing kids and referenced the summer movie theater shooting in Colorado, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

The Santa Clarita Valley station was notified of the comments by authorities in Bristol, Conn., who had linked the suspect to a residence in the 23000 block of Edenton Place, which overlooks Santa Clarita Elementary and Arroyo Seco Junior High.

The station’s juvenile intervention team alerted the schools and conducted surveillance of the residence while detectives obtained a search warrant, the statement said.

The suspect was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley station on suspicion of making terrorist threats. Several firearms were found in the home.

Detectives remain in contact with Bristol police and Yale University police, the statement said. The department did not say what the suspect’s connection was, if any, with Yale or the city of Bristol.
