Tom Hanks on shuttle: 'Spaceman in me just went berserk'

Space shuttle Endeavour's tour of Southern California had celebrities taking to Twitter to record the experience.

Some reported seeing the shuttle near their home, while other took time out of filming to look up to the skies.

Tom Hanks, who starred in the 1995 film "Apollo 13," wrote: "Just flew over my head!!! Don't see this everyday. Never will again. The Spaceman in me just went berserk. Hanx."

Actress Justine Bateman wrote: "Space Shuttle just flew past our house! So Cool!"

"Why didn't they invite me to come? I like space," wrote actress Olivia Munn.

The shuttle spent about an hour over the skies of L.A., and it covered a lot of ground. It entered via Malibu and Santa Monica, then went through central Los Angeles, Pasadena, Orange County and then back toward Los Angeles International Airport, where it landed.
