Tense standoff at apartment after bizarre freeway chase

L.A. County Sheriff's Department deputies were in a tense standoff after two men led them on a bizarre high-speed freeway chase on the 105 Freeway.

The chase began in Lynwood. At some point, the men got out of the car and ran into an apartment house in Gardena. One of the men was arrested but the other was still inside an apartment. Sheriff's deputies have surrounded the apartment, according to footage from KCBS-TV Channel 2.

The station reported that a woman with a bullet wound had been shoved out of the car at some point during the pursuit, but Sheriff's Department officials could not immediately confirm that report or provide additional details.
