Power restored in Covina area
Electricity has been restored to Covina residents who were without power since Saturday afternoon because of a power substation fire, officials said Sunday.
About 1,300 residents in the Covina area had not had power since about 4 p.m. Saturday, according to Southern California Edison officials. Services were restored about 2 p.m. Sunday.
Edison officials had been giving affected residents water and ice. Initially, about 2,000 residents lost electricity.
