LAPD releases sketches of Los Feliz intruder

September 25, 2012 | 10:07 pm

Composite sketch 1Authorities on Tuesday released composite drawings of a suspect in a series of burglaries and sexual assaults in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles.

The man being sought entered 13 homes and apartments along Los Feliz Boulevard from March 27 through Aug. 17, police said.

“He frequently enters the victim’s residence between the hours of 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.,” according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department. “He has taken the victims’ property while they are asleep.”

The man also has made “sexual contact” with some of the victims. When they awoke, he fled, police said.

Composite sketch 2A male roommate of one of the victims saw the suspect in their apartment, but the suspect acted so calmly that the roommate did not realize what was going on.

Police said that the man targets single, working women and that he has stolen computers, money and other valuables, as well as women's underwear.

The suspect is thought to be a 25- to 30-year-old Latino with black hair and brown eyes, about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10, with a slim build and broad shoulders. He weighs about 170 pounds.

Composite drawings are based on witness perceptions, and in this case, the man has been described both as being closely shaved and having a thick mustache, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the special assault section of the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division during business hours at (213) 486-6910. At other times, the number to call is (877) LAPD-24-7 or (877) 527-3247. Anonymous callers should dial (800) 222-TIPS.
