O.C. jailer arrested for allegedly videotaping up woman's skirt

September 26, 2012 |  1:32 pm

An Orange County Sheriff's Department jailer has been arrested for allegedly videotaping up a woman's skirt at a Target store in Fontana.

Police were called to the Target in the 16900 block of Slover Avenue on Monday, where the alleged victim, a 32-year-old woman, had been shopping with her husband.

She told authorities that she noticed a man -- later identified by police as 38-year-old Jose Alderete -- following her and acting strangely.

She eventually noticed that Alderete had a cellphone taped to his shoe and was trying to record under her skirt, authorities said.

The woman called out to her husband, who saw what was happening and chased the man as he tried to flee the store, authorities said.

The man was allegedly trying to delete items from his phone when the husband tackled him in the parking lot. The husband held the man until police arrived.

Alderete was booked and then released after being cited for misdemeanor disorderly conduct with a camera.

Authorities said that Alderete works as a non-sworn jailer with the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Police said the cellphone also had videos of other females at different locations. Those women have not yet been identified. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fontana Police Department at (909) 350-7700.
