Multi-car crash closes eastbound 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills

September 5, 2012 |  6:54 am

A multiple-vehicle crash closed all eastbound lanes of the 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills Wednesday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

Only preliminary information was available in the incident reported just before 6 a.m. at Winnetka Avenue, said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos. Television footage showed at least four vehicles involved; Villalobos said one overturned.

Injuries were reported, Villalobos said, and firefighters and paramedics were on scene.

Traffic was being diverted at Winnetka Avenue and allowed back on the freeway on Tampa Avenue.

Officers began opening some lanes of the freeway a short while later, but the two right lanes remained closed.
