Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives on Monday were investigating the shooting death of a man in Compton.

The incident took place at a home in the 1200 block of Golden Street shortly about 8:40 p.m. Sunday when an argument broke out among members of a family and the suspect in the shooting, officials said.

The 18-year-old suspect left the home, returned with a gun and shot the victim several times, according to a statement from the Sheriff's Department.

It was unclear if the suspect was related to others in the home, but the incident is believed to be gang-related, according to the Sheriff's Department report.

No arrests have been made in the case and there were no further details early Monday.
