Man walks on tracks, is killed by Metrolink train in Baldwin Park

A 49-year-old man was killed by a Metrolink train in Baldwin Park on Friday night after walking past the railroad crossing arms and onto the tracks, police said.

“We don’t know what the man was doing there,” said Sgt. Chris Hofford with the Baldwin Park Police Department.

The incident happened about 7:30 p.m. on Ramona Boulevard and Downing Avenue as the train approached the Baldwin Park station.

The man, who was pushing a bicycle during the incident, was identified as Carlos Jacinto DeSantiago of Norwalk. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:01 p.m., Hofford said.
