September 17, 2012 | 12:43 pm

A 21-year-old Irvine man has been indicted by an Orange County grand jury on charges that he killed his father, stole his car and fled to Colorado.

Steven Joseph Bruno is accused of shooting his 60-year-old father, Ernest Bruno, on Aug. 30 after an argument over money and then locking the man's body in a bedroom.

Prosecutors said Bruno fled in his father's car.

The next afternoon, family members discovered a large pool of blood inside the Irvine home, according to a statement by the Orange County district attorney's office.

Bruno was arrested hours later in Colorado.

Bruno was brought back to California over the weekend. He could face life in prison if convicted on the charges. He is being held without bail.
